Meet The Team Dr. Barry Odesnik BVSc , BVSc (hons) Dr. Barry Odesnik qualified as a veterinarian in South Africa in 1987. After spending two years as a military veterinarian he entered small animal private practice. In 2000 he completed a three year post-graduate degree in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Barry and his family immigrated to Perth in 2000 and worked for one year as an emergency veterinarian after which he worked for six years in a busy small animal practice. Dr. Barry has a special interest in veterinary dermatology, cardiology and management of osteoarthritis. Lara Odesnik Practice Manager Lara has been qualified as a veterinary nurse for 18 years. She received a diploma in veterinary nursing in South Africa in 1988. She has worked in small animal practice for 12 years and has worked for a veterinary nutrition company as well as a veterinary pharmaceutical company. Lara has two children, Gaby and Brendan, Emmy the dog and two beautiful cats. Cathy Schafer Veterinary Nurse Cathy was born in South Africa and has lived in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney before moving to Perth. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Biology & Zoology) from the University of NSW and has a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Cathy has three years experience working in busy veterinary hospitals in Sydney and Perth. She enjoys horseriding and is passionate about Australian wildlife care and rehabilitation. Cathy has an interest in canine behaviour and training and she runs the Puppy PreSchool Program at Vital Vet. She has two beautiful beagles named Bessie and JJ. Sara Johansson Veterinary Nurse Sara was born and raised in Sweden. She enjoys traveling and has visited many interesting places throughout her travels. In 2006 Sara moved to Perth, Australia. She is excited about pursuing her dream to work with animals and is completing her training at TAFE as a veterinary nurse. Sara has also completed a comprehensive introduction to veterinary nursing training course. Sara has a beautiful kelpie named Bonny (pictured right) and two horses, a Standardbred named Homer and her latest addition– an 18 hand Clydesdale named Mac Pat Morris Veterinary Nurse Pat Morris is a fully qualified veterinary nurse with many years of experience. Pat has a special interest in rehabilitation of Australian wildlife. She has two lovely golden retrievers, Ben and Isabel. Lisa Stewart Veterinary Nurse Lisa has been a qualified veterinary nurse for five years and has completed an Animal Care course. She is currently completing a double major in Biological Sciences and Conservation Biology. Lisa has a beautiful dog named Annabell. Zach Mawdesley Trainee Veterinary Nurse Zach is a recent addition to our team. He has just finished high school and is beginning his studies to become a veterinary nurse. |
